One of the pioneers of grunge has also turned out to be its most longstanding devotee. This isn't by choice, but rather a function of the fact that Mudhoney are sonic primitives who can do one thing and one thing only: superfuzz punk 'n' roll. This means Vanishing Point contains a deluge of Detroit-by-way-of-Seattle riff raging; both "I Like It Small" (dig those pounding keys) and "What to Do With the Neutral" (Mark Arm totally sounds like Iggy on this number) are pure Stooge-worship. "I Don't Remember You," in contrast, exudes more of a vintage garage vibe, but it's no less snarling.
